• To assist clients adjusting into mainstream society through
education, parenting, employment, etc.

• To educate the community of this growing problem which effects all of us.

• To educate and network with other qualified prison ministers, chaplains, parole officers, volunteers, and agencies.

• To provide a support network for the clients which assist them and their particular issues of reentry in the community.

History

RITAS Ministry, Restoring Inmate’s to America’s Society, was the brainchild of Deacon Rick and Linda Martin beginning in March of 1996. The agency received its’ 501 C-3 not for profit status on October 8th, 1997 and is governed by a Board of Directors.

RITAS Ministry has provided aftercare service such as, housing, food, encouragement, weekly support groups, and medical assistance to hundreds of clients and their families in the Kane County. Understanding the effects of the many complex issues the ex-offender faces trying to reintegrate into society is RITAS Ministry’s main focus.

In 1998 RITAS Ministry co-founded the Restorative Justice Committee of Illinois. RITAS Ministry is currently spearheading the newly organized Restorative Justice Institute of Illinois.
